ego pt. 3 - scott's crown

the 1500 is just not my thing right now. after my third relatively disappointing race in a row, i left the track and ran straight up grange rd to let off some steam. it is especially tough for me to race in non-tri specific races these days because my ego takes a beating when i expect myself to be able to deliver no matter what the discipline or distance. that being said, i may have to take another crack at scott's new family record later in the summer. for now it's a few more weeks of work before my first draft-legal olympic distance race. i know that the 1500 is going to feel so trivial when i'm slugging it out for 10k down that long, endless bike path that runs along the river in coteau du lac.

the weather looks to be heating up in guelph. the sun came out at the end of yesterday's 3+ hour ride, and while this usually wakes me up a bit, that's right about the moment when it started to hurt. we're moving today's run to 5pm to attempt to avoid the wave of heat that is scheduled to sweep in in about 20 minutes..

but it gets you lean, right? so does spinach.
