ego

when i was 16 i ran 4:07 for 1500m. four years have passed and i have yet to attempt to break that time. ever since triathlon became the priority the speed work has taken a back seat. there's a new sheriff in town. scott donald now has the family record. 4:06.

scott turns 17 today and will be looking to grab a new 3k PR when he toes the line with several sub 8:50 guys today in ottawa. he runs the 1500 tomorrow. he'll be looking for a top 4 performance in either race to grab himself a spot at OFSAA. the family record may be even lower by friday afternoon.

naturally, i have to defend my honour. on saturday i'm lining up at the final meet of the 401 series.

i'm busy prepping for a 2-hour slug fest in june. i don't remember how to race for 4 minutes. this should be an eye-opener. will i rise to challenge and maintain my rightful place in the pecking order? or will i crumble and accept the defeat of the younger donald? stay tuned.
