i walked out onto our front steps. it was sunny and warm and i wasn't surprised to see the neighbors outside as well. i did my best to scrape the yellow buds off my broccoli and into the bushes. my neighbor asks me why i'm doing that to my broccoli.
"well, i think this yellow stuff is nasty. can i still eat this?" i show him my broccoli.
"i don't know."
"i like broccoli," my other neighbor pipes in.
"so do i," i said.
then dorelle and ang pulled up to take us to london for the 2nd installment of the 401 Distance Series. they told me that i could still eat the broccoli. i hopped in and waved goodbye to a couple of five year olds.
then we all ran 5k. i know exactly when a race is starting to hurt because it's always right around the time when i start to fantasize about the high jump mat. the sweet, sweet high jump mat. it has to be the comfiest surface i can imagine and it just happens to be right at the finish line of yesterday's most discomforting 918 seconds. but that's 6 seconds of less discomfort compared to june of last year so i'm going to keep rolling with the consistent mileage and see if i can join alexander in the sub 900 club sometime soon!
